About The Artist:
Mention was made of the blind artist, Miss Chng Seok Tin who will be holding an exhibition of her works at NAFA. She was blind through an accident whilst she was studying the fine arts in UK, .
She went through dark experiences but this made her the more determined to paint even though life has brought unfairness and disadvantages. We must appreciate what we have, our health, sight and all else. Consider what she has to go through. One of the things that impressed Dr Tan Ching Yam was that she made use of everyday things like the ‘kum chum’ (lilly bud)for her art. Tying knots to make little people. Glued them on paper and had it lacquered. Unique! We should count our blessings one by one. There are many others who are less fortunate in this world.
