<动感清明上河图>
千载难逢的《动感清明上河图》，已经来到新加坡，不看可惜。
之前，我专程飞去上海参观世博会，却无法看到《动感清明上河图》，
感到遗憾。这次，我在新加坡把《动感清明上河图》看个够，非常感动，
所以隆重推荐给诸位好友去参观，参观之后，如果有任何感想记得给我回复，

HOW TO PAINT DEERS ?

• FORMATION OF A DEER:
Head—neck—body—legs
• STEP BY STEP:
1. Draw 2 circles. One small one for head and a bigger one for the body.
2. In front of the small circle which is for the head, draw a small circle as the mouth of the deer.
Join the small circle with the mouth to form the head of the deer.
3. Draw the horns of the deer on the head. It must be with strong stroke. The longer horns
represent that a male deer.
4. For the body of the male deer, draw the 2 front legs to show the male deer lying down on the floor.
5. The female deer, the same method apply (i.e. like no.1-3)
6. The legs of the 2 deers must show its firmness and muscle of the flesh of the legs.
7. Use a fine brush and draw the outline of both the deers.
8. When the ink of the 2 deers are dried, use a dry brush and draw the furs on the 2 deers.
The brush must be spread out to paint the furs.Furs must be very fine and spread out.
9. When drawing the horns, one need to draw 2 lines for each horn to show it’s strongness.
10. When all the ink of the deers are dried, use only water to blog out the colour of the deer.
It must show 3 –D effect.
11. Use yellow and orange, make it 2-tone and colour the different parts of the body of the 2 deers
must show its 3-D effect.
12. Use yellow and green colour, mix the 2 colour and use it to draw the horns of the 2 deers.
13. Draw willows and maples trees on the 2 different side of the deers.

WHAT IS RED COUPLED ?

, The favorite colour during Chinese New Year is red.
Auspicious Chinese calligraphy are also written on red rice paper and are called ‘chun-lian”(春联，red couplets).
“HuiChun”（挥春,writing red couplets） is a Chinese tradition during Lunar New Year. There are many writing styles of calligraphy.
One way is to write a single Chinese character (i.e.春，spring)or two Chinese characters(i.e.吉祥，auspicious).
Chinese calligraphy can be written on a pair of red couplets

HOW TO PAINT TERRACED LANDSCAPE ?

“How to paint terraced landscape? ”
1)What is terracing?
In Alpine areas, farmers open up a ladder-like hillside farmland, known as terrace(梯田).
This terrace, according to the terraced terrain in which the climatic conditions and the level, choose the most suitable for growing crops to grow, such as rice, maize, tea, or even planted with fruit trees or coffee. Terraces in Kunming of Yunnan, China, and Vietnam are found in mountainous areas.
Terraces are vital to the irrigation at the fields. If there is no water irrigating the fields, agriculture can not be carried out.
2)How painting terrace?
According to the shape of mountains, the depiction of the slope follow a contour design. There are twists and turns as the terrace follow contour design.
In order to paint more accurate, outline the contour lines using a little charcoal, and then use a brush to darken contour lines. Once the contour has been completed, colour it with some colours to get a striking landscape painting.
3)How the composition and layout?
There are three mountain ranges. Each has a different height and size, The rice paper is divided into two parts .
On the left has two mountains. In the lower right corner, there is a tree .Use the bold strokes with ample ink and water to paint the leaves on the terraced slope to make the picture thought provoking.Harvest season is the most beautiful scenery of terraced fields, with red and yellow, alternating with each other.

HOW TO PAINT A CLIVIA ?

How To Paint a Clivia?
Overview -
Clivia (君子兰)is a kind of potted flowers.
It has a stalk ,flowers and leaves. Each plant has only one stalk.
A few leaves grow from the bottom of the root.
Few flowers grow at the top of a stalk. The colour of the flower in bright red.
A good painting of clivia has a sense of elegant.

Painting method –
Using colour paint the picture is straight away painted rather than outlining the picture with black ink first. This is the technique of method of ‘MOGUFA’(没骨法)。
Flowers –
You must paint the petals based on the right perspective of petal with the tone of red colour.
There are two flowers grown on the stalk.
One shows the front view of the flower. There are six pieces of petal.
The other shows the side view of the flower with 4 petals.
Wait for the colour of the flower to dry, then paint the stigma（花蕊） in the centre.

Leaves -
There are three leaves,
Using green colour paint the leaf on the left ,then the leaf on the right.
Finally, paint the central leaf.
Wait for the leaves to dry. Then use black ink to paint the vein on the leaves.
And then modify slightly the whole painting where necessary.

MICRO-LANDSCAPE OF BANA,BY DR TAN

Micro-landscape in Bana by Dr Tan
Content-
This is a piece of art depicted the scenery in the Yunnan province. It has a lively and relax style. Bold brush strokes entails strength in every move. It is simple yet it demands a lot of observation in its composition with a 3-D effect.
Living Life style-
The lady in the picture represents the life she leads in her village. Good posture derives from balancing pots of water on the head. Certain areas are still void of modern facilities. Though the ladies in the area do a lot of tough work, yet they maintain a svelte figure. The lady appears to be doing the peacock dance with grace.
Composition-
Note the staircase moving up and disappear among the palm trees. Objects in the foreground should appear bigger than those in the back. That is where composition comes in. Distance plays a part in this composition too.
The trees are at different levels and lends a serene atmosphere with strong winds blowing as shown in the last tree. Note: there is a difference between palm and coconut trees.

The building on the right are drawn with ‘broken’ strokes, so to speak. These vertical and horizontal lines should not be drawn straight down to give the building a ‘boxed’ effect. Otherwise everything will look so artificial. The building should have a life of its own.

We learn to appreciate nature on our trips overseas. Then we can recall and put them on paper, rice paper that is.
