Art Dojo was born out of a personal journey when I started blending therapeutic concepts into my own creative work.
Creativity shouldn’t feel intimidating or out of reach. We all deserve to feel that childlike joy (our inner disco) and personal growth that comes from making art, especially when it’s messy, unfamiliar, or a little outside our comfort zone.
As a mum of two, I see firsthand how creativity helps us process big emotions, express things that words can’t reach, and make sense of our inner world. The way we respond to creative frustrations mirrors how we meet challenges in everyday life - and this is where growth begins.
Getting creative isn’t just about making something pretty. It helps us problem-solve, stay curious, build resilience, and show up more fully in our everyday lives.

I believe in the power of creativity to bring calm, colour, and clarity into our lives - and I’d love to help you discover that too.

Before launching Art Dojo, I spent over 20 years working in advertising and marketing, helping others tell their stories. After several big life events, I changed direction and retrained in creative therapies, returning to my own art practice with a deeper purpose.
I've learned through experimenting, getting frustrated and embracing the mess - and I encourage my clients to do the same. Rebuilding my creative confidence transformed how I navigate life's challenges, and now I help others discover this innate and powerful tool.
I now share what I’ve learned through Art Dojo. My classes are relaxed and welcoming experiences, where creativity supports wellbeing, confidence, and connection - with ourselves and with others – building emotional clarity alongside practical art techniques.
Originally from the UK, I now live by the sea in tropical Far North Queensland, Australia, with my two kids and our blue heeler-kelpie cross, Sharky.
He's training as a support dog, so he sometimes joins our in-person classes or pops up online.

Art can be just for you.
It doesn’t have to even be seen by anyone else, let alone need their approval!
It can be deeply personal - a gentle way to explore your inner world, gain insight into what’s really going on inside, to find clarity in the chaos.
The most meaningful art might never be framed, yet it helps you understand yourself a little better and make small shifts that change everything.

Art [ahrt]: the expression or application of creative skill and imagination.
Dojo [doh-joh]: “Place of the Way”; a place for immersive learning or meditation.
